The Spoleto Vocal Jazz Workshop

Active students will participate in daily Master Classes, lessons and coachings, and public performances, at the discretion of the Artistic Director. The number of active students will be limited to ensure personal attention to each singer.

Vocal Repertoire: Singers should come prepared with at least five jazz tunes they are comfortable singing. Teachers and coaches are knowledgeable in the entire jazz vocal repertoire and style. Special attention will be given to English diction and inflection and style as relates to jazz vocal music.

The Vocal Jazz Workshop operates concurrently with the Spoleto Vocal Arts Symposium (opera and art song), a Seminar on Sacred Architecture, and a Kids' Club with many activities planned together for mutual benefit. Indeed we enjoy a rich atmosphere under a strong spirit of learning and collegiality.

PROGRAM OFFERINGS INCLUDED IN TUITION:

• Master classes: conducted working days.
• Private lessons: offered on a daily schedule.
• Coachings: scheduled daily in combination with lessons and master class work.
• Public performances: student participation at the discretion of the Artistic Director in jazz concerts in the town of Spoleto and in other towns in Umbria.
• Continental breakfast at your residence every day
• Housing: Participants will reside in the recently renovated San Carlo Borromeo Hotel or in apartments if accompanied by family members and/or friends, all pre-arranged by SAS and priced accordingly
• Meals: All participants will have the pleasure of eating a delicious lunch in one of Spoleto's fine restaurants on working days, organized by SAS. A continental breakfast will also be provided at the hotel every morning. Participants will be free to make their own arrangements for dinner and for lunch and dinner on non-working days. Receptions and parties following selected concerts are also included in tuition.
